What do we do at Escuelita?

• We foster Spanish language development.
• We deliver a high quality arts and science classes to children ages 2 to 11.
• We encourage cultural identification with Spanish-speaking cultures.

Escuelita CIC provides classes for children with a dual focus methodology: Spanish as a second language and subject content at the same time. This pedagogy is called Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). In practice, this means that our arts and sciences lessons are taught in Spanish, rather than the dominant language of the pupils.

Escuelita also fosters the cultural identification of children from Hispanic backgrounds and promotes the Latin American and Spanish culture in Cambridge.

Who are we?

We are a group of multinational Cambridge residents with strong Spanish and Latin American links. We are interested in fostering Spanish language acquisition and cultural identification in children with any Hispanic background.

Our teaching staff and directors come from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, USA, Chile and Peru. Meet the team down below!

Escuelita is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC, Company number 10947345), that wants to promote Spanish language acquisition in children and celebrate children’s diverse Spanish-speaking cultures.
